Statesmen, industry leaders, soldiers and citizens worked together
in the States of New York and New Jersey to build defenses and develop strategies to hold the Hudson River against a British invasion
that could split the Colonies.
"Defending the Hudson" was produced by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Rockefeller State Park Preserve, and the Friends of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. The exhibit is on loan to the NJ State Park Service for 2001. Additional panels were designed by Ringwood State Park Staff (NJ Park Service) and produced with assistance from the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society, Ringwood Manor Citizens Advisory Committee, and the Friends of Long Pond Ironworks.
